Wildflower Rescue specializes in the rescue of wildflowers and plants experiencing imminent habitat loss.
All cypripediums (lady's slipper) species have been rescued and recorded in accordance with the USDA and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
Wildflower Rescue specializes in the salvage of only those plants experiencing imminent habitat destruction. We ask that you please contact us with any questions or concerns you may have regarding our plants, rescue efforts or to discuss potential rescue in your area.
Wildflower Rescue of MN's website, www.wildflowerrescue.com, provides an introduction to a very unique native plant rescue nursery. The site features information about our efforts to rescue Minnesota native orchid, the lady's slipper plant or cypripedium, as well as other woodland plants and wetland plants, experiencing imminent habitat destruction due to urban development. The site features breathtaking images of these native orchids such as the Cypripedium reginae or showy lady's slipper, Cypripedium parviflorum pubescens or large yellow lady's slipper and Cypripedium parviflorum parviflorum or small yellow lady's slipper. The site also explains the care and maintenance required for native wildflowers and plants, and invites visitors to contact Brad Pausch and Jane Pausch to let them know if their area might be eligible for native plant rescue. The Wildflower Rescue of MN nursery is located in rural Northfield, Minnesota and is managed by Brad Pausch and Jane Pausch and family.
The purpose of the Wildflower Rescue of MN website is to educate people about our native plant rescue efforts. The site explains how Brad Pausch and Jane Pausch coordinate and rescue wildflowers and Minnesota native orchids such as the Minnesota State Flower, the Cypripedium reginae or showy lady's slipper, Cypripedium parviflorum pubescens or large yellow lady's slipper and Cypripedium parviflorum parviflorum or small yellow lady's slipper. Wildflower Rescue of MN offers these rescued lady's slippers for sale and hopes to expand rescue efforts to include as many varieties of native woodland plants and wetland plants as can be safely salvaged and maintained. Our rescue will soon include trillium ferns and sedges, but we currently rescue native orchids, native wildflowers and plants. Wildflower Rescue of MN is the only legally permitted wildflower rescue nursery of its kind.
